includes laboratory, clinical, and collaborative components that
aim to improve eye banking processes and help advance research
designed to treat ocular diseases. Join our dynamic team of
motivated individuals who perform research to restore sight while
helping external collaborators develop therapies for diseases like
Fuchs corneal dystrophy, AMD, glaucoma, and others. Lions
VisionGift is a non-profit organization founded in 1975 by Lions
Clubs of Oregon, which recognized the need for an eye bank to
provide ocular tissue for transplants, research and medical
education.
Since its inception, over 65,000 people have received the gift of
sight from tissue procured and screened by Lions VisionGift, which
works closely with transplant surgeons. Additionally, ocular
tissues have been utilized for valuable research projects and
surgical training.

Experience / Skills: Superb attention to detail coupled with
excellent project management skills are amust. Comfortable with
computers and experience with Microsoft Office products is
required.Experience working in an office or professional setting in
healthcare or science is preferred. Experiencewith database
applications, laboratory equipment (including microscopes and
imaging equipment),tissue dissection, and basic laboratory
supplies/reagents is highly preferred. Excellent customer
serviceskills required.
Summary Statement: The Research Partnership Coordinator (RPC)
position is suitable for an individualwho is organized, able to
multi-task, and able to perform (with training) basic and advanced
laboratoryprocedures. This person will be part of a team that works
under the direction of the Vice President ofResearch and
Development (VPRD). The RPC collaborates with researchers to
develop tissue recovery andpreservation protocols and handles the
fulfillment of Lions VisionGifts' portfolio of on-going
researchpartnerships. The RPC is responsible for managing
non-transplant tissue (research and surgical trainingtissue, a.k.a
NT tissue) assignment and distribution. This involves coordinating
with all necessarydepartments to recover, process, and distribute
NT tissue in a timely manner. The individual in this positionis the
primary contact for internal and external NT tissue requests. They
will develop and maintainresearcher relationships in coordination
with the VPRD. Work schedule is based on normal business hoursbut
may vary depending on the needs of the department and could
potentially include evenings, nights, andsometimes weekends.

Requirements:Education: A Bachelor's degree or equivalent. Medical
or laboratory background is a plus.
