We're seeking a Development Gift Officer to join our team! You'll
contribute to fundraising efforts by cultivating, soliciting,
securing, and stewarding major, planned, special and annual gifts
from individuals, corporations, and foundations. You'll promote our
culture of philanthropy and advance our mission by supporting a
diversity of development initiatives.
While much of the work is done independently, you'll have ample
opportunity to collaborate with a delightful team and a leader
committed to removing barriers to empower your work. You can expect
transparency and support for your work and professional
development. This is a hybrid position that will work three days
per week from Kerr Administrative Center.
Essential Duties
- Employ moves management strategies to advance relationships
with a portfolio of individuals, corporate, and foundation donor
prospects
- Develop solicitation materials and prepare gift agreements
- Work collaboratively to understand organizational priorities,
and cultivation, solicitation and stewardship efforts
- Take leadership for Development team activities in areas
assigned
- Support strong data management of constituent records and
information management of shared materials
- Prioritize professional learning to build skills around best
and promising practices
- Work closely with development and marketing teams to
incorporate giving opportunity and event content into
communications

All Kerr employees are required to be fully vaccinated or meet the
requirements for a medical or religious exception prior to
beginning work.
- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
- At least five years of non-profit development experience with
demonstrated track record of major gift solicitation success
- Experience with donor portfolio management preferred
- Excellent written, verbal (including public speaking) and
interpersonal communications skills with the ability to work with
individuals with diverse backgrounds
- Possess independent and mature judgment and demonstrate
effective critical thinking, problem solving and decision-making
skills
- A team player, willing to jump in when needed and support work
of development team colleagues
- Ability to be entrepreneurial in nature: self-starter; action-
and results-oriented
- Ability to organize time effectively, establish priorities,
meet deadlines, and manage many tasks simultaneously
- Ability to use Microsoft Windows, Excel, Word, Outlook, and
donor databases
- Sufficient physical dexterity to retrieve, manipulate, insert
documents into or retrieve documents from files stored in standard
filing cabinets, with or without reasonable accommodation
