Data Architect
POWER Engineers, Inc. is seeking a driven, creative, inquisitive, and focused Data Architect to join our Enterprise Architecture Department.
The Data Architect will have deep knowledge in data management with expertise in designing, data modeling, end to end context flow solutions, and will be a visible leader working across organizational boundaries and implementing modern technology solutions. The ideal candidate will be able to evaluate a business requirement, perform end-to-end impact assessment, identify, and document the data requirements and recommend appropriate data management solutions. The candidate is expected to show initiative, requiring minimal oversight, is purposeful, with a strong sense of teamwork. The role requires exceptional communication skills and an ability to build and maintain working relationships with team members, vendors, and other departments involved.
Role Responsibilities:



  • Work closely with business teams to translate analytic business requirements into architecture and data designs.


  • Responsible for architecture of Data Lake and Data Warehouse usage, ingestion, and standards.


  • Provide insight into the changing data management and utilization requirements for the company and offer suggestions for solutions.


  • Collaborate with technical architects to make sure the organization's systems are designed in accordance with the appropriate data architecture.


  • Apply available standards, methods, and tools in an intelligent and effective way to produce a consistently high standard work product.


  • Develop, implement, manage, and socialize the data strategy and governance roadmap to mature fundamentals, ensuring alignment and buy-in across the organization, and participating in initiatives to mature fundamentals as needed.


  • Contribute to the Data Governance team to develop common standards and taxonomies, as well as assemble playbooks that business teams can use and apply to their domains to determine what works and what does not. Use that feedback to refine standards, clarify lines of accountability, and advance the support model to the business.


  • Lead the design, development and implementation of data, analytics, and business intelligence solutions in support of the data strategy and roadmap, leveraging cloud-native technology, to enable data and insights self-service and agile data management across the company.


  • Partner with senior leaders across POWER to define and launch key strategic and operational initiatives.


  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with technology vendors and partners


    Education:

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical degree.

      Required Qualifications:


      • 7+ years of experience with developing and operating on-premises, hosted, and cloud-based application, ERP, data platforms, and business intelligence platforms.


      • Advanced knowledge of Data Architecture, Data Warehousing, Advanced Analytics, and Business Intelligence implementations, including the latest research and industry trends.


      • Experience with SQL, relational databases, and cloud-based data warehouse and data lakes (Snowflake, Microsoft Dataverse, Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse Analytics, etc.)


      • Experience with analytics and data visualization tools (Power BI preferred).


      • Knowledge and experience working within cloud computing environments (Azure preferred).


      • Knowledge and experience with AI, ML, and RPA solutions, implementation, and support.


      • Ability to create effective relationships, listen, influence, and collaborate internally and externally at all organizational levels.


      • Ability to work through ambiguous situations with a can-do attitude and proactively determine creative solutions.


      • Desire to operate at the intersection of technology and business, spearheading organizational, operational, and technological change.


      • Knowledge of SLAs, KPIs, and forecasting (demand management).


      • Excellent verbal, presentation, and written communication skills.

          Salary DOE: The pay range for this position is $120K-$160K per year; however, base pay may be higher or lower depending on the candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This figure does not include additional compensation such as health benefits, vacation, 401k, etc.
