-- -- -- POSITION SUMMARY:---- -- This position is accountable for achieving multiple site production performance results associated with WSF activities performed or supported at each site. Performance results include, but are not limited to, Safety, Environmental, Quality, Schedule and Production KPIs (Key Performance Indicators). He/She will work in concert and alignment with other Sr. Production Managers, Superintendents Programs, Projects and Shared Services Functions to develop macro and micro work plans designed to achieve performance objectives. The position will report to the VP of Production and all site production personal shall report through various supervisor levels (Site Production Managers, Superintendents and Supervisors) to the Sr. Production Manager. Manage the work based on developed plans. Proactive and prospective reviews of work plan and schedule shall be conducted along with progressing to determine cost and schedule performance. Active measures shall be taken to improve cost and schedule performance and clear definable mitigation plans shall be established when negative variances occur or are projected, these shall be tracked until resolved or stabilized. -- ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:-- -- (This list is not intended to detail all aspects of the assigned work but is representative of the job---s overall responsibilities.) -- Lives the Vigor Values. Individual or key technical personnel shall contribute to development of final production plans and assisting in development/alignment of engineering, procurement and material delivery to work stations, QC and QA. Accountable to hire and train skilled craft personnel to support work across site and properly assign personnel to the work in alignment with production goals, schedule and plan based on skills and abilities. Working closely with HR to obtain/retain diverse people and leading them to be exceptional members of Vigor and as required administer corrective action. Partners with the VP of Production and VP of Marine Fabrication for overall program performance and P&L. Accountable to establish a safe work site and ensure that all leaders and workers adhere to company policies and associated regulatory requirements. Accountable for production performance of regularly reported KPIs. Accountable for adherence of completed work and worker performance to agreed quality systems, requirements of third party regulations as applicable and to specifications or contracts. Accountable to develop, create and maintain a positive, inclusive work environment for all team members. Accountable to hold themselves to Vigor Values and promote and grow Vigor---s values within leadership and workforce. Responsible to review/verify all weekly production progressing produced/created or updated by Projects. Responsible to review and evaluate regularly reported KPIs (weekly, monthly or for other key events or milestones. Responsible to be well versed with all specification requirements and familiar with contractual requirements to ensure work is performed as expected and support for contract management is provided. Coordinates with support services personnel to ensure equipment, facility, inventory, material and other required items are available to support work. -- --MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: -- --plan a production schedule for the job --implement and control the production schedule --review and adjust the schedule where needed --determine the human resources required --determine the material resources required --manage human and material resources to meet production targets --make decisions about equipment use, maintenance, modification and procurement --work out and implement standard operating procedures for production operations --ensure that standard operating procedures are adhered to --ensure implementation and adherence to health and safety procedures --set product quality standards --monitor quality standards of products --enforce quality control and tracking programs to meet quality objectives --analyze production and quality control to detect and correct problems --determine and implement improvements to the production process --prepare and maintain production reports --monitor and review the performance of staff and organize necessary interventions for improvement --estimate production costs --manage production overhead budgets --manage production budgets --implement cost control programs --ensure efficient collaboration and co-ordination between relevant departments including supply chain, logistics and project management -- JOB SCOPE: -- The position operates within established policies and procedures covering each work station. The individual must have agreement from VP of Production to revise standard work practices regarding safety, environmental rules and revision to work shifts. He/she is accountable to make decisions for selection of supervisors on assigned projects. In addition, the responsibility to work with Project Managers to develop build strategy plans. The position is accountable for over $100 million dollars in annual revenue. Incumbent is responsible for condition, function, safety, operations and compliance of facilities and all equipment associated within said facilities. -- SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:--The role manages approximately 100-250 craft employees in various skills in numerous work stations in manufacturing shops. He/she is accountable for employee training and qualification, ensuring daily maintenance of equipment and upkeep, and other general housekeeping. --He/she may manage multiple production managers, superintendents, supervisors, and various leads responsible for assigned tasks. The Sr. Production Manager will be required to document corrective actions and conduct performance reviews of staff. -- INTERPERSONAL CONTACTS: --The individual will interact with other managers in performance of this role and be required to coordinate scope of work with other company priorities. He/she may be required to communicate at all levels within the organization and will also at times interact with customers on shop floors and in meetings.-- -- KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES: ---- -- --Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written for constant interaction with all departments and employee levels as well as customers --Ability to lead, manage and motivate employees in a production environment -- --Ability to--lead consolidation of multiple locations into a single operation. Critical change management skills will be required.-- --Must have the analytical ability to research problem areas and special requests -- --Must be a well-organized, detail oriented self-starter -- --Ability to read and comprehend work specifications, work orders, blueprints, contracts and technical publications --(Gov---t specifications, drawings and federal requirements) --Ability to handle competing priorities and deadlines effectively to minimize last minute changes or revisions to expected plans. -- --Ability to handle interruptions while maintaining focus in the production environment --Must be able to schedule, direct and organize work within a diverse department and coordinate work with other departments to maintain efficiency --Must possess the ability to facilitate group decision-making, team building and conflict resolution -- --Must be able to react and perform in emergency situations --Ability to use PC and software applications such as MS Office, Excel, and database programs --Must be familiar with budgeting, estimating, planning, scheduling principles and material procurement --Knowledge of OSHA and other environmental regulations --Must have a working knowledge of, and be familiar with various codes and practices associated with the aluminum fabrication industry, and be familiar with the resources available to maintain code compliance -- knowledge of raw materials knowledge of quality management systems and standards knowledge of process improvement techniques knowledge of business, finance and management principles knowledge of human resource principles and practices knowledge of machines and tools knowledge of engineering and technology principles and practices -- EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:-- -- Associates degree or equivalent work experience is required. -- Minimum 20 years of experience in heavy industry, manufacturing, (preference for marine vessel construction, production environment, with increasing responsibilities. --Minimum seven (15) years of experience in a supervisory capacity, with increasing responsibilities. --The incumbent must have experience and thorough knowledge of production procedures, government regulations, and administrative procedures within a marine program with a background in continuous process improvement. He/she must have experience and a working knowledge of all specific operations of departments, including all machinery and tools. -- -- CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS:------None required. -- --
