Technicians will engage in fault isolation for test failures and verification of repairs while working with engineers to help determine data trends and improvements.An ideal candidate must have good communication skills, and the ability to operate in the fast-paced production environment and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, optical assemblies.Primary Responsibilities:Sets up and operates precision test equipment for alignment, troubleshooting and testing of electrical equipment and systems.Perform testing using DMM, oscilloscope, frequency generators, high frequency power supplies, spectrum analyzer, etc.Collect, document, and report on tests performedEvaluate test resultsAbility to read complex electronic schematics, analyze circuits and follow written work instructionsEmploy a comprehensive knowledge of electronic theoryBasic troubleshooting and problem solving of advanced test equipment functions. Reprograms replacement test equipment and determines possible failure modesAble to research and provide input on required design changes to correct test failures or improve product reliability.Performs difficult electrical, mechanical, and optical assembly, modification, and repair operations on subassemblies and line replaceable units. Determines requirements and installs modifications as set forth by engineering drawings, engineering change notices, schematic diagrams, and other applicable documentation.Verifies that repairs or modifications performed on equipment conform to 'Collins Quality and Workmanship Standards'Capability of working independently as well as in a group settingSupports and promotes continuous process improvement and lean initiatives. Provide ideas for and participates in lean activities, events, and other process improvement initiatives.Basic Qualifications:HS Diploma or GED is required.
