of sight! Lions VisionGift is a non-profit organization founded in
1975 by Lions Clubs of Oregon, which recognized the need for an eye
bank to provide ocular tissue for transplants, research and medical
education. Since its inception, over 65,000 people have received
the gift of sight from tissue procured and screened by Lions
VisionGift, which works closely with transplant surgeons.

research projects and surgical training. Please visit for more
information on our organization. LVG is currently offering a
challenging and rewarding Recovery Technician position at our
Portland location. This position is primarily responsible for
recovering human eye tissue from post-mortem donors for transplant,
research and educational purposes. Examples of responsibilities
- Coordinating recoveries with Donor Referral Line staff;
- Post-mortem removal of human donor eye tissue for transplant,
research, and medical education purposes according to standard
- Surgical tissue preservation;
- Laboratory and supply tasks;
- Assistance in training and onboarding new technicians;
- Other duties as assigned. In-house training is provided.
Preference will be given to applicants with experience or course
work in biological sciences, allied health, or medical technology.
There are two open positions: Thursday, Friday, Saturday and every
other Wednesday. This is an overnight position, typically 6pm-6am.
Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and every other Wednesday. This is a day
position, typically 6am-6pm. Hourly rate is $18.20/hr. plus shift
differential. Cell phone Stipend. Requirements:
- Must be detail-oriented and able to follow directives and work
- Have a valid driver's license with an excellent driving record
and reliable, insured vehicle.
- Some travel outside the Portland metro area (within a
reasonable driving distance) may be required. In addition to the
