Job Description:
The Qgenda Business Analyst position is responsible for support of
the Qgenda system at OHSU. The QGenda suite of software includes
Advanced Scheduling, Time Tracking, Compensation Management,
Insights Analytical functions and potential future additional
applications such as room management. This position will apply
knowledge and best practices to assist end users with
configuration, production support and the development of
enhancements for the Qgenda Suite. This position will:
- Gather business requirements, assess system configurations, and
support an enterprise-wide scheduling and compensation management
system
- Understand general business processes and applications to help
drive recommendations for process improvements.
- Troubleshoot production issues and provide end user support via
the telephone and email.
- Provide analytical support for customers by evaluating and
documenting requirements and reviewing and tracking projects.
- Develop test cases and scripts and thoroughly test fixes and
enhancements prior to release into user testing.
- Monitor information technology output for quality, accuracy,
and timeliness.
Function/Duties of Position
System Analysis and Design:
- Gather business requirements, assess system configuration and
support the Qgenda Suite
- Troubleshoot production issues and provide user support via the
telephone and email.
- Develop plans to correct problems that may include
modifications to user procedures, user data entry instructions,
user training, and/or database correction proposals.
- Maintain a problem/issues log and communicate problem
status.
- Work with customers to document specifications / requirements
for enhancements and fixes to systems, applications, reports, and
interfaces.
- Analyze requirements and design solutions to meet customer
needs for enhancements and fixes to systems, applications, reports
and interfaces. Provide level of effort estimates to support
resource planning.
- Upon customer request, complete analysis to quantify the extent
of system changes required for issues related to collective
bargaining.
- Analyze applications and systems to identify opportunities for
simplification and enhancement.
- Analyze present and future system needs of customers and make
recommendations on options and alternatives for implementing
applications and systems.
- This position will all serve as a backup system administrator
for QGENDA.
Quality Assurance Process:
- Ensure that proper quality assurance standards are applied
throughout the software development lifecycle. Manage work requests
from initiation through close.
- Work with heavily with assigned departments to document
user-friendly testing of system/interface requirements, make design
recommendations to meet quality assurance requirements and project
schedules.
- Assist and/or develop test cases and scripts and thoroughly
test fixes, enhancements, and patches prior to release into user
testing. Document and communicate preliminary testing results.
- Translate technical specifications and requirements into
informative, user-friendly test plans for end-user acceptance
testing.
- Help to ensure data integrity and validity of applications and
reports.
- Work with technical support to facilitate the application of
patches and the timely resolution of Service Requests.
This position is currently 100% telework/remoteand may
includeremote work long-term. Candidate must be able to work from
home full-time initially.
Required Qualifications
Education/Experience:
Masters degree in computer science, a related field, or a clinical
field and four years work related experience in the information
technology field or a combination of clinical or operational
healthcare environments; OR
Bachelors degree in computer science, a related field, or a
clinical field and six years work related experience in the
information technology field or a combination of clinical or
operational healthcare environments; OR
Associates degree in computer science, a related field, or a
clinical field and seven years work related experience in the
information technology field or a combination of clinical or
operational healthcare environments; OR
Eight years work related experience in the information technology
field or a combination of clinical or operational healthcare
environments; OR
Equivalent combination of education and experience where one year
of experience will be substituted for an Associates degree and two
years of experience will be substituted for a Bachelors degree
Job Related Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (Competencies):
- Strong functional understanding of advanced scheduling, time
tracking, and compensation management systems.
- Ability to develop detailed user requirements / specifications
documentation supporting complex system enhancements.
- Must have knowledge of software development life cycle and
production environment support procedures in an Oracle applications
environment.
- Knowledge of quality assurance processes in a software
development environment
- Ability to develop and execute test scenarios, test cases, and
test scripts for software fixes, patches, and enhancements
- Must have excellent communication, analytical, and
organizational skills: both written and verbal.
- Ability to use tact and diplomacy to maintain effective working
relationships.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team while being
collaborative in resolving problems.
- Must have demonstrated, excellent customer service skills both
on the phone and in person.
- Must possess energy and drive to coordinate multiple projects
simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience:
- Experience as a human resources/payroll business analyst
working with advanced scheduling, time tracking, and compensation
management systems.
- Experience with Cloud-based providers
- Experience supporting enterprise-wide systems and
applications
- Experience providing quality assurance and testing support in a
software development environment
- Successful candidates must show that they have significant
organizational skills and have lead projects from conception,
schedule, design, testing, through implementation.
- Must be a self starter who is experienced with driving teams
successfully through the software development lifecycle.
Additional Details
Please note: Effective Oct. 18, 2021, all OHSU employees are
