DescriptionOur Supply Chain team ensures inventory is consistently
available to meet customer demand. We coordinate all aspects of
supply through supply planning, sourcing, making, inventory
management, packaging and delivery. We partner across the
Marketing, Finance and Manufacturing organizations to build a
robust demand and supply plan and ensure we get products to the
right customer, at the place, at the right time.The scope of the
Executive Director, Supply Chain and Operations includes
responsibility for Supply Chain Management, Warehouse Management,
Site COMET Data Management, MPS, Learning and Development, Weigh
and Dispense operations, Digital Transformation, Knowledge
Management and Site Strategy implementation and execution at
Durham.The Executive Director Supply Chain and Operations works
with the Focus Factory and IPT Leaders driving end-to-end
accountability and connection to customers and suppliers to
optimize supply chain performance. In addition, the role supports
the new investments at the Durham sites included, but not limited
to HPV, CMV, QO Labs Expansion and the feasibility studies into BCG
facilities and the COVID19 Vaccine Drug Substance from the design
concept phases all the way up to commissioning and later
operationalization. - The Executive Director Supply Chain and
Operations reports solid line report to the Durham Plant Manager.
The Executive Director Supply Chain and Operations will partner
collaboratively and leverage the above site organizations such as
Supply Chain, Procurement, Global MPS, Global Logistics, Global
Learning and Development, GES, Digital Transformation organizations
to ensure alignment of Supply Chain and Operations activities
across our company's Manufacturing Division.Primary
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the Supply Chain CoE at the Plant and
represents this area on the Site Leadership Team.
- Accountable for achieving the process outcomes for Demand
Management, Planning Scheduling, Export, Artwork Development and
Change Management and Inventory Management Stewardship. In
addition, is responsible for S&OP and LROP at the site and the
primary contact for above site S&OP and LROP.
- Manages a team of Site Warehousing and Logistics Professionals
and is responsible for the Durham Site Logistics Operations,
including material receipt, supply to production areas, all
warehouse operations, shipping (domestic and export), foreign trade
zone operation and reporting, trade compliance, and capital
planning and project management. Owns budget forecast and delivery,
value capture support, and resource management. Interacts with all
levels and functions of site management and Global Logistics
including site planning to drive optimal logistics flow and
efficiencies, and to deliver site metric performance related to
supply, service, and compliance. Partner with other global supply
sites to understand best practices and drive optimal performance
across all nodes of the supply chain
- The Executive Director Supply Chain and Operations manages a
team of Site Learning and Development Professionals to support
alignment of learning strategies with the strategic plans of the
division or function, plays a strategic, advisory role as learning
business partner to the Plant Manager and Senior Leadership Team.
Position Learning & Development as a strategic lever in enabling
the success of Manufacturing the Future Strategy, and performance
of the Site.
- Manages a team of Site MPS Professionals to support
manufacturing IPTs and functions within the site. Partners with and
consult functional leaders, plant manager and the site leadership
teams to develop plans and execute performance improvement
activities. Develops Lean management and people development
processes and plans. Manages end-to-end process improvements and
projects to drive results and realize intended business benefits.
Provide teaching and coaching to effectively transfer Lean skills
into the organization for the development of Lean Leaders
- Responsible for designing and implementing a new organization
and team for the Weigh and Dispense operations for all
manufacturing at the Durham sites including VMF, CMV, HPV, and
other planned future needs.
- Leverage the Manufacturing Division's Knowledge Management -CoE
to help identify site needs and opportunities to improve and
promote knowledge flow with a focus on key products and processes
that enabler product realization activities, from
commercialization, launch, & supply (e.g. capture of tacit
knowledge, technology transfers, investigations, etc.). Leverage
Manufacturing KM strategic imperatives to ensure site knowledge is
managed as an asset for business continuity, foster collaboration,
ensure connectivity and enable the greatest value from project and
site knowledge.
- Leverage the Manufacturing Division's Digital Transformation
CoE to help identify site needs and opportunities to lead the
Digital Transformation efforts for the site. Will establish an
ecosystem of innovation where digital solutions are identified to
achieve growth objectives and embrace experimentation while never
compromising safety or quality. Leads the building of site's
organizational digital capabilities to drive business results.

IQV and discard reduction/avoidance planning, slow moving stock,
inventory turns and hold time processes.
- Responsible for leading for SKU and artwork rationalization
at-site.
- Proactively manage component, raw material and WIP inventory to
optimize warehouse capacity and resource utilization.
- Work with Regional procurement to understand opportunities for
cost reduction.Supply Chain Risk and Compliance
- Understands and manages SOPs to ensure compliance to internal
and external regulatory standards.
- Support any EHS or Quality Compliance regulatory audits.
- Ensures Safety and Quality policies and guidelines are followed
by all colleagues within Supply Chain function.

Deviations are fully investigated with actions implemented to
continually improve processes and prevent recurrence.
