Job Description:
Position Summary Inventory Control Specialist will be
responsible for s upport ing the production operation through the
audit, financial tracking, control and monitor of physical movement
of all inventories within and outside of plant. Ensure accurate and
timely posting of all materials and labor hours in JDE. Maintain
data integrity and reporting, purchasing, and other internal
customer and JDE support. Position Essential Duties and
Responsibilities
Ensure the accurate control of inventory of raw material, packaging
material, sub-assembly, and finished good products at the AFNA
facility and outside (3rd party) warehouses.
Ensure system data (JDE) matches the actual physical inventory
movement to guarantee data integrity, visibility, and financial
reporting accuracy to meet MRP requirements.
Identify inventory variances and perform the necessary system
material adjustments to maintain data accuracy. Exercise
independent judgment to reconcile with PI
Understand and maintain food industry First Expired First Out
(FEFO) standards and practices.
Communicate and relay inventory and FIFO issues to plant personnel.
Promote and maintain a cooperative work environment.
Ensure all inventory adjustment transactions are accurate and
completed in a timely manner.
Report variances and adjustments to Plant Management
Monitor and report materials approaching expiration. Isolate and
remove expired materials from inventory rotation to ensure process
integrity and food safety.
Ensure Plant quality control processes are followed by auditing
material processes and reporting minor and major deviations to
management.
Change or modify material processes to maintain or improve quality
and productivity within the Plant.
Confirm Work Order data entry performed in JDE and check against
production paperwork and physical inventory
Ensure the JDE work order data is accurate prior to running
accounting and variance modules to close
Confirm, verify, and post accurate actual labor hours by item as
reported by production
Confirm, verify, and post the accurate quantity of the material
used within sub assemblies and finished goods
Report adjustments made due to reporting errors to the appropriate
accounting and management personnel
Perform cost adjustments to correct system posting inaccuracies due
to reporting errors.
Independently monitor, investigate, and resolve inventory and
costing variances and process problems. Report the issues and
potential impact(s) to Management.
Schedule, perform, and report audit results for quarterly/yearly
physical inventory counts
Report daily WO variances and damaged, misused, and disposed
material to CI
Maintain proper documentation retention for all inventory
transactions to satisfy internal and external regulatory
requirements.
Ensure all inventory adjustment transactions are accurate and
completed in a timely manner.
Head weekly Scrap meeting including managing HOLD reports for all
ATFN Portland locations
Be point of communication for all year end count activities.
Provide management details of plant downtime needed, Corporate
downtime and new physical year start time
Work cross functionally with purchasing on a daily basis to ensure
transfers are accurate, and correct and investigate any
discrepancies between JDE and the 3rd party WMS for raw
materials
Work cross functionally with logistics to reconcile finished good
inventory and identify and correct Finished Good lot and quantity
discrepancies at AFNA locations and 3rd party warehouses
Train both new users and current employees at AFNA Portland but
also support the implementation of JDE and ensure adequate training
at ATFN
Code and compile adjustments at multiple JDE branches for the CI
manager
Train and encourage continuous improvement in all aspects of the
inventory process

Position Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree (BA or BS) from a four-year college or university
preferred; or at least five years related experience and/or
training; certification, or equivalent combination of education and
experience.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in various units of
measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and
interpret bar graphs.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions
from group managers
